As age catches up with all of us, unfortunately we become increasingly more susceptible to lines and wrinkles. Anti-wrinkle injections such as Botox® are an effective and safe way of smoothing facial lines by relaxing the facial muscles.

How does Botulinum Toxin (Botox®) work?

Botulinum toxin works by blocking the nerver transmission to muscles under the skin, relaxing them and smoothing the appearance of the face.

Which facial areas can be treated?

Anti-wrinkle injections are used mainly for:

Crow’s feet around the eyes
Smoothing horizontal forehead lines
Frown lines between the eyebrows

Is Botox® Safe?

Yes, Botox® is extremely safe. It has been used safely and effectively for over 15 years for various medical conditions and in the cosmetic industry.

When will I see the effects?

The anti-wrinkle effects begin to take effect after 2-5 days with the greatest effect being seen after 14 days. Dr Pereira will review your treatment after 14 days. If a top-up is required, this will be administered free of charge.

How long will the effects last for?

The effects usually last between 3-4 months although results vary by individual. You will then notice a gradual return of muscle movement. The effects last longer on repeat injections with most clients achieving a good effect for between 4-6 months before requiring further injections.
